What is major depression? You feel deeply sad, and it does not go away. You have a low mood, no motivation, difficulty concentrating and no interest in things you used to enjoy. You feel isolated, you cannot fall asleep, you have no appetite, and you feel guilty or worthless. This can last for days, weeks, months and even years. You feel regret about things you did. You might describe feeling apathetic. You have a hard time doing or starting your daily routines. You have difficulty getting out of bed in the morning. You may feel hopeless. Other symptoms of depression. You feel down and you do not want to do anything that you may not do self-care routines such as taking a shower, exercise or eating a meal. You do not enjoy things as you did before that you do not go out with friends or do activities like you did. You withdraw from others that your relationships start to grow distant. You have no motivation to do your job that you fall behind on tasks that need to be done which may affect keeping your job. You feel apathetic that life starts to lose its meaning and purpose. You will learn how to develop a healthier relationship with yourself and improve your sense of self-worth and confidence. We will identify and replace negative self-talk, focus on self-compassion, and improve your relationships with others. You will learn skills for coping with depression. Through the use of mindfulness, you will develop a greater sense of awareness and inner peace, reduce stress, and improve your motivation. You will learn to not let your automatic thoughts disturb you as much as they do now.
